Uí Buide (e.g. O'Kealy).

The traditional lands of the Úí Buide were in the barony of Ballyadams, County Leix. After the coming of the Normans in the late 12th century, this area was set up as a marcher Lordship under the cantred name of Oboy (an anglicized form of Úí Buide), and later came under the control of the O'Mores during the Gaelic revival of the 14th century. The surname O'Kealy or O'Kelly in county Leix and Kilkenny is derived from a clan name of the Úí Buide.

The Annals cite
  • For 1010, Faelán, mac Dunlaing, tigherna Ua m-Buidhe, died.
